Patch 08.07: Team-Up choices matter more than the headline badge

Eleven of 18 changed heroes have a conditional Team-Up adjustment. Here is what changed, what it implies, and what still needs match testing.

The badge misses the patch's main story

RivalsGlance identifies this release as Version 20260807. The official balance post is dated August 4, 2026. It changes 18 heroes across all three roles: 11 buffs, 4 nerfs, and 3 adjustments. Those labels are useful for scanning, but they do not tell the whole story.

Eleven of the 18 hero entries contain a change tied to a selected Team-Up partner. A hero marked Buffed may therefore be stronger only in a particular lineup while the rest of the kit remains unchanged. There is no global system adjustment in this post. Its practical themes are control reliability, ability uptime, survivability, and the value of specific partner pairings.

Our read: Patch 08.07 makes lineup context more important than the headline badge. Inspect the Base and Enhanced portions before treating any Team-Up change as universal.

Peni Parker trades instant control for a two-step setup

Peni receives the patch's most structural change. Cyber-Web Snare no longer immobilizes an enemy on the first hit. The first snare now applies Web-Tracer for five seconds and a 30% Slow for one second. Hitting that marked enemy with another snare applies a 0.7-second Immobilize.

The ability now has two charges, so Peni can create the second hit herself, but opponents receive more warning and a chance to react. Her Cyber-Web Bonus Health cap also falls from 200 to 150. The practical result is less immediate control and less personal durability, with more emphasis on timing both charges or coordinating the follow-up with a teammate.

Rogue gains defensive margin while Venom loses it

Rogue's Defensive Stance damage reduction rises from 55% to 60%, and her Regenerative Shield increases from 250 to 275. Both changes improve the amount of pressure she can absorb before disengaging.

Venom moves in the other direction. Symbiotic Resilience now grants Bonus Health equal to 110% of lost health instead of 120%, while Venom Swing's cooldown increases from eight to ten seconds. Venom can still commit aggressively, but a missed exit window carries more risk.

These values do not prove where either hero belongs in a tier list. They do indicate that Rogue receives more defensive forgiveness while Venom must manage his resources and escape timing more carefully.

Several buffs improve consistency, not only burst

Doctor Strange receives two direct improvements. Daggers of Denak damage rises from 16 to 18, and projectile charges increase from 10 to 12. When Hulk is the selected partner, Gamma Maelstrom's cooldown also falls from eight to six seconds. More charges and shorter conditional downtime give Strange more opportunities to contribute even before considering a damage breakpoint.

Cyclops gains more Ricochet Force cooldown reduction from every Optic Blast hit, increasing from 0.15 to 0.25 seconds. His Gambit-enhanced Concussive Beam also receives a larger attack-frequency boost, from 10% to 15%.

Moon Knight's bounce attacks now lose 20% damage per bounce instead of 30%, so later hits retain more of their original value. Luminous Moon's cooldown falls from 15 to 12 seconds when Cloak & Dagger are selected. Its dash becomes longer, and the Enhanced effect adds 60 total healing over three seconds after Moon Knight leaves the Phased state.

Loki's Mystical Missile projectile speed rises from 100 to 120 meters per second. The listed damage is unchanged, but faster travel can improve how reliably shots connect at range. This is a reliability buff, not a direct damage increase.

Conditional nerfs target specific partner value

  • Black Panther with Storm: area damage falls from 40 to 30, while cooldown rises from 12 to 15 seconds.
  • Elsa Bloodstone with Devil Dinosaur: Smoky Snare trap health falls from 100 to 50, and control duration drops from 1.5 to 1.2 seconds.
  • Hela with Namor: Undead Monstro damage falls from 15 to 10 per hit.
  • Gambit with Magneto: the spell field launches enemies once per second instead of once every 0.5 seconds.

These reductions reinforce a basic reading rule: inspect the Base and Enhanced effects separately. A conditional nerf does not necessarily reduce that hero's performance in every lineup.

Strategist changes favor availability and utility

Jubilee's Energy Plasmoids gain one point of damage and one point of healing per hit. The individual increase is small, but repeated successful shots can accumulate value.

White Fox receives the larger Strategist adjustment. Kumiho Unleashed's energy cost falls from 4800 to 4300, and casting it now applies Blessed by the Nine to allies within ten meters for three seconds. This improves both ultimate availability and its immediate team contribution.

What to test after Patch 08.07

  1. Can Peni consistently convert her first snare into a second hit, and how often does the target escape during setup?
  2. Does Venom still have Swing available when a committed dive needs to end?
  3. Which Moon Knight angles gain the most from reduced bounce decay?
  4. Is a hero's improvement always active, or does it require the named Team-Up partner?
  5. Does White Fox's lower ultimate cost materially change when Kumiho Unleashed appears in a normal match?
